Peter Hanly principal research interests lie at the intersection of art, literature and philosophy, in particular in relation to the Romantic period. He is the author of 淏etween Heidegger and Novalis (Northwestern University Press, 2021), as well as of articles on Hegel, Kant, Heidegger, Nancy and, most recently, Reiner Sch眉rmann. He is the translator of Heidegger 淥n Inception澛(Indiana University Press, 2023), as well as of essays by Nancy, Werner Hamacher and others. He is currently working on a study of the French Surrealist poet Jo毛 Bousquet, and a translation of Nikolaus Lenau 淔aust.澛燩rior to coming to Boston College, he enjoyed an extensive career as a concert violinist, performing throughout New England.
